Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers was essentially just Wings for children. I mean, I’ve never really seen much of Wings, but I know I saw every episode of Rescue Rangers when I was 5 or so. Technically, Rescue Rangers came first, so really, Wings is an adult version of Rescue Rangers.
Chip and Dale were brothers, probably, maybe they were lovers, I could never quite figure it out. Lets assume they were brothers. The two dudes from Wings, Brian and Joe, were brothers too. Dale was a care-free, lazy type, so was Joe. Chip was the hard-nosed, straight man, just like Brian.
Then there was the supporting cast. The spunky, gender-positive blonde woman with the texas drawl, represented by Gadget and Helen Hackett. The fat, eccentric mustachiod man, Roy Biggens and Monterey Jack. And the quiet, utilitarian sidekick, Zipper and represented by two characters in wings, the guy who plays monks character, and that dude with the deep voice from sideways.
Oh, plus, the Rescue Rangers had a plane, and wings was all about planes…
I don’t care how tenuous my evidence is, the proof is in the fucking pudding people.
